Montage Makes Me Want to Die, but What About Tomorrow?

Shit, I just got back from break today and I guess one could say that I had a wonderful time at home, but I would really like to let you know that if one was telling the truth they would say that my time in Grand Rapids, Ohio was rather mediocre in it's degree of fun. How about that for a long sentence?

I got to see Confined Spaces of Sanity play at a small birthday (Kara's) party saturday night and it was a pretty good time. They played "The Wall" and "Sgt. Pepper. . ." and everyone's favorite - "Dear Charlotte (version 1)". They refused to Play "America Backwards is Freedom", but that is alright since at least I got to see them play over break. Maybe when my birthday comes around I will go back to Grand Rapids and make them play!

Anyway, also during break I watched Citizen Kane ("Rosebud!!!!"), Grave of the Fireflies, and X. I was only dissapointed by Grave of Fireflies cause Nick said he liked it and I don't think that I did. In fact, I am having trouble seeing why it's liked by a lot of Anime fans. Oh yea, I made Chris watch Elfen Lied and then I bought Serial Experiments: Lain on ebay so that I can watch it. After Lain I will buy Berserk! Oh yea, and I started reading a new book: Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins. I am 1/3 of the way into it and it is pretty badass. I recommend Tom Robbins anyday!

Over break I decided that I should do an Elliott Smith Tribute thing where I just play some of his more acoustic stuff at open mic nights and stuff. If I get it down pat enough I can just do my own night full of Elliott tracks. Here's what I plan on playing and/or learning:

Last Call
Condor Ave.
Christian Brother
Good to Go
Needle in the Hay
2:45am
Between the Bars
Pictures of Me
Pitselah
Bottle Up and Explode
Oh Well, Okay
I Better Be Quiet Now
Can't Make a Sound
Stupidity Tries
A Distorted Reality
Twilight
Rest My Head Against the Wall (Heatmiser)
Miss Misery

and Nick, if you would be so kind as to type out the Get Lucky chords for me (because the tab on the website sucks) I would really appreciate it because I want to play that song real bad too.

In other news I wrote a new song titled Tomorrow. I don't have the lyrics on my computer, but once I get the true feeling for the song I will lay it down with my area mic so that I can make people listen to it. It's nothing extremely special, but I like it!

Well, there is an assignment due in film class this coming Thursday and I need to try to film it either Monday or Tuesday (hopefully Monday) but I don't know what the fuck I am going to do! Anybody got any ideas out there? Like, ones that are fucking good. I've been having bad ones for this assignment and I want it to be good! Where is my god damned creative juices! I apparently ain't got none!

Well kiddies, that's all for today, did I leave anything out? Oh well, okay.

Your time in Grand Rapids was only mediocre because i was not there :P
I liked Grave of the Fireflies for my own reasons, its not a GREAT film, and is probably the most depressing thing i have ever watched, but i still really liked it. it gives a good sence of japanese culture and spirit during WW2 in the small vilages. i liked the charictures and the fealing of the film. its a sad sad film, but i like it.

anyway, i like your Elliott Smith covering ideas and the songs you chose are very good (all of his songs are amaising) and the version of Get Lucky that i play is my version in a different key, and i dont know the whole song. but i could write it out for you anyway.

ENJOY LAIN!!! its one of my all time favorite things EVER. personaly i think its the best directed anime series ever. super creative and strange.

ps. my sentance was longer :P
