Tomorrow

Here are the lyrics to a song I wrote a while ago but just feel like putting them up now. Tell me the good and the bad. Is it clever? You know, shit like that. Here it is: Tomorrow.

Tomorrow
It's not the way that you look through my eyes when you gaze
And it's not about the way you make me feel in this daze
You sure got a grasp on the way that I made today

It's not the things that you say before we crash into bed
And it's got nothing to do with the crazy thoughts you put in my head
You’ve sure do got a way that makes me forget today

And if I had anything to give you, I would
But I've got nothing to return that's so good
You know surely if I did, then I would, I would

It's not the way your voice resonates in my ear
And it's not in the way your smile makes me discard fear
You sure got a grasp on what makes me fade away today

It's not in the way that you are so quick to forgive
And it's got nothing to do with how you make me live
You sure got a way that drowns out lament today

And if I had anything to give you, I would
But I'm completely useless and do you no good
It's completely unfair, and give you something I should, I should

It's not in the way that you think you've figured me out
And it's not in the way that you know what I'm all about
You sure won't want me when it doesn’t hold accurate today

What about tomorrow?
Will it be the same tomorrow?
What about tomorrow?
Will I be here tomorrow?
What about tomorrow?
Will you be there tomorrow?
What about tomorrow?
I wonder if it will be the same

Yup, that's it. Hell, I'll even blog the lyrics for "Who the Fuck Knows" by request. I am playing with Scantily Clad Lads at open mic tomorrow. Ha ha, tomorrow. But, I am also playing my solo stuff. Wait, it's so late and that is today!

One of the Same

Words to a song I wrote. Tell me what you like, tell me what you hate. There is, of course, always room for improvement and changes. So let me know! Anyway, it is called "One of the Same." Enjoy!

We are not one of the same
Thrown on the ground cracked as the picture frame
Put away your hopes and take a stance
The skeletons in my closet don’t care to dance

The thickest it flows is down the river
Tick tock of the busted clock makes me shake and shiver
I wanted not to follow your trails
Thee who breaks the path is surely the one who fails

I know for certain we are not one of the same
Now I feel that I’ve been forced to go and change my mother fucking name
Perhaps I’m a monster, but I can say what is worse
It’s people like you in this world make me want to sleep in the back of a hearse

We are not one of the same
The lion in charge has the biggest fucking mane
I watch my thoughts unravel in my dreams
The inner self is always darker than it fucking seems

I know for certain that we are not one of the same
For if we were both human beings I wouldn’t know what to blame
I wish Christ would hurry up with his second fucking birth
So you can go straight down into hell with the rest of this earth

When you speak, you say it too loud
You are getting lost in the crowd
I cannot make out your face
It seems that I have lost my place

Questions?

So, have you ever been leading your life in one direction but the closer you get to the final point the more you wonder if you have done everything right? Perhaps the goal isn't really for you? How can I truly know anything if I am changing my plans every single year?

I haven't wanted to be a psychology professor until the first semester of my junior year. I haven't wanted to be a professor in social psychology until this semester. And now, just a year from when I will be obtaining a degree, I am not sure if I have gone about everything in the right way. The closer I come to graduating the scarier life becomes.

Should I go into the Peace Corps and discontinue my education for nearly three years perhaps causing me in the process to forget much of what I know to be true? Or should I go into graduate school directly (or soon after) college so that I can enter my career sooner in life (possibly altering me from ever going into the Peace Corps)? Will I have enough money for Grad-school either way? Will I be admitted to University of Michigan or Ohio State University?

What is it with today that causes me to ask so many questions? Will everything work out in the end? I don't know what to do sometimes. Next year I have so many psychology classes that I will forget about many things that matter to me in life (like music), well, a least for a period of a few months. And when I reach Grad-school, my whole life will be focused on one thing, is that what I want to happen? Can I stop it from happening? Whatever happens, don't I know that the general human tendency is to see things that you work hardest for in the best light? So should I even be concerned? Are there enough question marks yet?

So many questions to leave unanswered for another day to come my way. And all the time my life continues whether I want it to or not. Will I be prepared for what comes next? Haven't I always been? Am I prepared for failure?

Frosty is Dead.

So, life has been all life-ish lately. I am so busy with shit all the time (Whether it's doing homework, making a film, or watching Lain). I just finished washing my pants and it is late and I am thirsty.

Anyway, I watched some anime called Lain and finished it tonight. it's thirteen episodes and it is very anti-climactic (which isn't a bad thing or anything), but it is very relaxed and groovy too. i need to watch it again. It's very artistic/stylistic. I love Arisu, and why not? I fall in love with these damn characters all the time! Too bad that the lesbian ending I was hoping for didn't come about in the end.

In other news I made a new film called "frosty" in which Frosty the Snowman and his maker pay the piper. There are guns and there is snow, and even slow motion! This film even has music and bad gun shot sound effects. But, hey, I star in it! Word.

I think me and the rest of the members of Scantily Clad Lads has decided to do a concert near the end of April in the Hunt/VA basement. It will be cool and probably our only show this year. But the band has unlimited potential since now we have a good base to work off of when next year comes around. And I have a lot of improving to do musically over the summer!

I met with my advisor the other day and I am taking some summer classes and a shit-ton of psychology classes next fall. What a bitch, huh? Well, I guess it isn't a bitch since it is my major. Anyway, I have like, not too much to write, but I should go to bed or something of the sort. And drink some water. You all have a wonderful week. I should record "Tomorrow" sometime soon.

playful
PLAYFUL. You're a sexy cute chica who likes to
keep it adorable and fun.

What is your lingerie style?

Montage Makes Me Want to Die, but What About Tomorrow?

Shit, I just got back from break today and I guess one could say that I had a wonderful time at home, but I would really like to let you know that if one was telling the truth they would say that my time in Grand Rapids, Ohio was rather mediocre in it's degree of fun. How about that for a long sentence?

I got to see Confined Spaces of Sanity play at a small birthday (Kara's) party saturday night and it was a pretty good time. They played "The Wall" and "Sgt. Pepper. . ." and everyone's favorite - "Dear Charlotte (version 1)". They refused to Play "America Backwards is Freedom", but that is alright since at least I got to see them play over break. Maybe when my birthday comes around I will go back to Grand Rapids and make them play!

Anyway, also during break I watched Citizen Kane ("Rosebud!!!!"), Grave of the Fireflies, and X. I was only dissapointed by Grave of Fireflies cause Nick said he liked it and I don't think that I did. In fact, I am having trouble seeing why it's liked by a lot of Anime fans. Oh yea, I made Chris watch Elfen Lied and then I bought Serial Experiments: Lain on ebay so that I can watch it. After Lain I will buy Berserk! Oh yea, and I started reading a new book: Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins. I am 1/3 of the way into it and it is pretty badass. I recommend Tom Robbins anyday!

Over break I decided that I should do an Elliott Smith Tribute thing where I just play some of his more acoustic stuff at open mic nights and stuff. If I get it down pat enough I can just do my own night full of Elliott tracks. Here's what I plan on playing and/or learning:

Last Call
Condor Ave.
Christian Brother
Good to Go
Needle in the Hay
2:45am
Between the Bars
Pictures of Me
Pitselah
Bottle Up and Explode
Oh Well, Okay
I Better Be Quiet Now
Can't Make a Sound
Stupidity Tries
A Distorted Reality
Twilight
Rest My Head Against the Wall (Heatmiser)
Miss Misery

and Nick, if you would be so kind as to type out the Get Lucky chords for me (because the tab on the website sucks) I would really appreciate it because I want to play that song real bad too.

In other news I wrote a new song titled Tomorrow. I don't have the lyrics on my computer, but once I get the true feeling for the song I will lay it down with my area mic so that I can make people listen to it. It's nothing extremely special, but I like it!

Well, there is an assignment due in film class this coming Thursday and I need to try to film it either Monday or Tuesday (hopefully Monday) but I don't know what the fuck I am going to do! Anybody got any ideas out there? Like, ones that are fucking good. I've been having bad ones for this assignment and I want it to be good! Where is my god damned creative juices! I apparently ain't got none!

Well kiddies, that's all for today, did I leave anything out? Oh well, okay.

Learning Chinese: Lesson I

Lesson I: How to introduce yourself to someone and have a rather random conversation.

Conversation for three (if one of the people are mute)

Wang Peng: Ni hao.
Chaya: Ni hao. Ni jiao shenme mingzi?
Wang Peng: Wo jiao Wang Peng. Ni ne?
Chaya: Wo jiao Chaya.
Wang Peng: Ni shi meiguoren ma?
Chaya: Wo shi meiguoren. Ni ne?
Wang Peng: Bu shi. Wo shi zhongguoren. Xian zai ji dian?
Chaya: Xian zai xiawu liang dian ban. Na shi shei? (pointing to person next to Wang Peng)
Wang Peng: Ta xi huan jiao Jianada. Ta bu hue sho hua.
Chaya: Shi ma? Jintian shi ta de shengru ma?
Wang Peng: Bu shi. Ta de shengru shi xia xingqisi.
Chaya: Xia xingqisi wanshang, wo qing Jianada chi fan, hao ma?
Wang Peng: Bu hao. Jianada bu xi huan ren. Wo xi huan ren ye xi huan chi fan. Zenmeyang?
Chaya: Wo bu xi huan ni. Zaijian!
Wang Peng: Zaijian huai dan!

English Translation:

Wang Peng: Hello.
Chaya: Hello. What is your name?
Wang Peng: I am Wang Peng. Who are you?
Chaya: My name is Chaya.
Wang Peng: Are you an American?
Chaya: I am an American. How about you?
Wang Peng: No. I am Chinese. What time is it right now?
Chaya: Right now it is 2:30 in the afternoon. Who is that? (pointing to person next to Wang Peng)
Wang Peng: He likes to be called "Canada". He is mute.
Chaya: Really? Is today his birthday?
Wang Peng: No. His birthday is next thursday.
Chaya: I would like to take "Canada" out for dinner next thursday, is that alright?
Wang Peng: No good. "Canada" doesn't like people. But, I like people and I also like food, how does that sound?
Chaya: Well, I don't like you. Good-bye!
Wang Peng: Good-bye bitch (bad egg)!

Not bad for your first lesson, eh? Now you are well on your way to taking a trip to China while surprising people with the randomness of the Chinese language that you know and use. Stay tuned for lesson two, who knows when that will come.

Anyway, I have recorded "Power of the Wake" and it is finished. If you want a copy of the song then you need to instant message me and ask for it, baby!
